Abstract
The present study was conducted aimed to investigate styles, dysfunctional thoughts, and life skills in students with and without gender identity disorder in the causal-comparative study. 78 students with gender identity disorder were selected using purposine-voluntary method sampling the welfare offices, psychological clinics and forensic medicine in Tehran, Tabriz, and Kermanshah cities, and 78 normal students from the universities of the mentioned cities. The Participant completed the Javanmard's Gender Dysphoria Questionnaire, Beck et al. Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale (DAS), Lazarus and Folkman's Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WOCQ), and Saatchi et al. and Life Skills Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and spss-24 software statistical. The findings indicated that the mean of emotion-focused coping style in students with gender identity disorder (35.68) were significantly higher than normal students mean (32.26), the mean of problem solving skills in students with gender identity disorder (23.74) lower than normal students mean (25.16), and in other variables, the two groups are not different from each other. According to the findings, these results can be used to educate people with sexual identity disorders.
